Thank you so much sir... I was in a desperate need for a tutor on youtube to learn after effects... and its really a blessing that youtube's algorithm made me saw your video... Thanks again... LOVE FROM INDIA ❤❤❤
This tutorial was immensely helpful and just what I was looking for! Thank you so much for sharing ~ One quick question, is there a way to link/whip another layer of text to the side of the extruded shape? Similar to your example at 4:36 ?
Hey thx very much! Glad you liked it! You could add another text layer like at 2:51 and instead of placing it on the front just rotate it 90 / -90 degrees and place it on the sides of the cube. At 4:36 I placed two cubes right next to each other.
Thank you so much for the video. It's so helpful. However, I had a little problem regarding changing the side color. It seems like I can only change the left side but not the right side. Will you able to tell me why?
Extruding has always been a bit intimidating. Nice explanation. It could also be useful to precomp the single rotating cube with the source text linked in the Essential Graphics panel.
Thx! You're right. A precomp would be very useful, especially if there are more than three cubes. I used to do any kind of 3D stuff in Cinema 4D. The integration into After Effects makes it so much easier...
@@perlebabin7115 You probably have to readjust the position. Especially the Z value. If the text is behind a solid it disappears. So you maybe have to move it closer to the screen.
This is amazing, thank you very much. I don't know what I'm doing wrong though but when i extrude the rectangle the borders on the sides become thicker than the top and bottom and I don't know how to change that
Thx very much! That's weird... I was just checking the AE Project and tbh I have no idea how that is possible... Did you maybe scale up the x-value of the rectangle?
You're very welcome! 😊 I made the fill of the cube black, the stroke width and the text white. Above that I added a solid with a colour gradient and set the blending mode to multiply.
Vielen Dank!
This tut is great! have a question though, What If I want to make my shape ellipse and make my text cylinder on the side? I know there's cc cylinder, but I need the text to be 3d so I can rotate freely like your tut did, Thanks!
You could use an ellipse instead of a rectangle for sure. The only problem is the text. I don't think you could wrap it around the round surface in After Effects. I would probably do it in 3D if it is supposed to be 3D. I think you can create a round text with cc cylinder, but probably not the shape...
Hi Kelly! If the extrusion of your cube is 400 pixels, the Z-Position of your text should be 401. And you need to set the Y-Rotation of the text to 180 degrees to be able to read it.
Great video! The problem is the music. Why do we have to have that awful music behind your voice. We’re not watching your video so we can get up and dance, we want to hear every word you have to say. Please dump the completely unnecessary music.

That’s awesome! You’re very welcome!
Superstar! This is exactly what I was looking for, and you explained it so clearly.
Thx very much! So glad it is helpful! 😁

That’s weird. Because it usually changes both sides. You can’t really choose. Does your text have an outline? Maybe that’s the reason.
Amazing!!
Thank you💕

Great video, super helpful.
Thanks very much! 😊✌🏻
@@ManueldoesMotion no problem. Also i have a question, for some reason whenever i made my text 3D it dissapears, do you know any way i could fix that?

@@ManueldoesMotion i will try that! Thanks.

Möglich zu erfahren, wie du die Animation @0:02 (die blau/gelbe) gemacht hast? Gerade dieser Effekt mit den Kacheln.
Super Video ansonsten!

Amazing
Thx very much!
Does anyone know why the small 'e' 's eye closes up when I make it 3d?
Is there a layer behind the letter?
Que genial !!!!
Thanks very much! Glad you liked it!
hi! im struggling with putting text on the opposite side of the cube, any advice?

Thanks so much for your feedback. This is one of my older tutorials, my newer ones are mixed differently.
